The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Utah Mammoth 6-3 at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Travis Konecny had a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup after he missed the previous 10 games with a lower body injury. Noah Cates and Christian Dvorak each added a goal and an assist, Jamie Drysdale had three assists, and Dan Vladar made 19 saves for Philadelphia (4-8-4), which had lost its previous three games.

Konecny changes the game

Matvei Michkov put the Flyers ahead 1-0 at 12:49 of the first period, finishing from the left post after Porter Martone's pass out of the corner bounced to him. Dmitri Simashev tied the game 1-1 at 14:24, skating onto a loose puck in the slot after a backhand from center ice took an odd bounce. Konecny put the Flyers ahead 2-1 at 1:06 of the second period, scoring with a backhand along the ice from the side of the net that went off the skate of Mammoth defenseman Artem Duda and under goaltender Karel Vejmelka. Cates made it 3-1 at 5:50 with a snap shot from the top of the left face off circle that ramped up off the stick of Mikhail Sergachev.

Konecny's line with Dvorak and Trevor Zegras combined for four points and a plus 8 rating. "There's a lot of chemistry there," Konecny said. Captain Sean Couturier, who had said after the 5-2 loss at Washington on Wednesday that the Flyers are at times soft, said Konecny's energy "kind of brings everyone in the fight," pointing to his four hits and his part in several scrums after whistles.

A season high, then a late scare

Dvorak made it 4-1 at 1:02 of the third period, scoring from the hash marks on a setup by Konecny. Oliver Bonk pushed the lead to 5-1 at 5:35 with a slap shot from the right circle. The six goals are a season high for the Flyers, who entered the game averaging an NHL low 1.93 goals per game. Their previous high was five goals in a 5-4 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on October 24.

Utah (9-6-0) pushed back late. Sergachev scored on a power play one timer at 16:00, and Logan Cooley added a second power play goal at 17:07 to cut the lead to 5-3. Cooley finished with a goal and an assist, Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller each had two assists, and Vejmelka made 15 saves. Cole Knuble scored into an empty net at 18:26 for the 6-3 final. "Disappointing for sure," Mammoth coach Andre Tourigny said. Flyers coach Rick Tocchet pointed to the second period: "Second was one of our better periods. We checked really well."

Owen Tippett also returned for Philadelphia after missing six games with an upper body injury, recording one shot on goal in 13:31 of ice time. Michkov's goal was his 10th in 16 games this season. The Flyers host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, and Utah plays at Toronto on Tuesday.
