Cruz Montana Unmasks on Raw, Joins 946 After Attacking Roman Reigns

Cruz Montana made his WWE main roster debut on Monday night, unmasking in the closing segment of Raw at Barclays Center in Brooklyn after he attacked World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and joined the 946 faction.

The reveal closed the November 2 episode, which streamed live on Netflix. Raw was the last episode before Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, where Reigns faces WWE Champion Sami Zayn in a champion against champion match.

A chair, a mask and a sixth member

The main event matched Solo Sikoa against 946 leader Royce Keys. Sikoa won by disqualification after Bronco Nima, Lucien Price and Carmelo Hayes ran in and attacked him. Reigns and The Usos, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso, ran out for The Bloodline, and the two groups brawled around the ring.

Reigns took control against Keys and hit a Superman Punch. As Reigns set up for a Spear, a masked man entered the ring, threw a steel chair at the champion and knocked him down. The masked man helped Keys back to his feet, removed the mask and stood with 946 as Cruz Montana.

The beatdown continued from there. Jey Uso was powerbombed through the announce table, Jimmy Uso was handcuffed at ringside, and 946 worked over The Bloodline in the ring. Zayn then ran in and hit Reigns with a Helluva Kick to close the show, four days before their match in Riyadh.

The road from TNA to Raw

Montana wrestled as Mike Santana before he arrived in WWE, and he is a two time TNA World Champion. He lost that title to Nic Nemeth at Slammiversary and joined NXT in July, shortly after his TNA contract expired.

In NXT he moved into the title picture fast. He challenged in a Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Championship at Heatwave in August, and he spent the autumn in a personal feud with Dion Lennox. The two are still advertised for an unsanctioned match on NXT this week. The show airs on Wednesday instead of its usual Tuesday slot because of midterm election coverage in the United States.

NXT executive Shawn Michaels marked the call up on X, noting that Montana is the 19th NXT wrestler to move to Raw or SmackDown in the last 12 months. Montana answered on his own account with a short warning aimed at Reigns, saying he was coming for the lion's head. He is the sixth member of 946, joining Keys, Nima, Price, Hayes and Jaida Parker.

Five against five now

Montana's arrival gives 946 five men, the size of a WarGames team, with Survivor Series ahead on the calendar. The Bloodline can answer with five of its own: Reigns, Sikoa, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu. WWE has announced no WarGames match and confirmed no lineups, but Monday's closing angle left both sides at full strength and left Reigns down at the end of Raw for the go home show before Crown Jewel.

Montana still has one piece of NXT business open. His unsanctioned match with Lennox is set for Wednesday night, and how he comes through it will say a lot about the shape he is in when 946 and The Bloodline meet again.
