Real Madrid won 3-0 at Racing Santander on Sunday to stay in the Spanish title chase, and Lazio beat Cagliari 2-1 to move top of Serie A. The two results headlined a Sunday of league football across Europe, on a weekend when every Spanish match began with a moment of silence for the victims of the deadly train crash in Spain.

La Liga: Mbappe scores again

Kylian Mbappe put Madrid ahead in the 11th minute with a penalty he had won himself. It was his 12th league goal of the season. Jude Bellingham made it 2-0 midway through the first half, set up in a move that also ran through Mbappe. Yan Diomande scored the third before halftime with a hard strike.

Madrid sit third on 27 points. Atletico Madrid are second on 28, and Barcelona lead on 30. Racing stay on 11 points in 17th place.

In the other Spanish game in the roundup, Getafe rallied to beat Sevilla 3-1. Martin Satriano set up the equalizer for Enes Unal and then scored himself. Orel Mangala added a late third.

Serie A: Lazio go top

Lazio took full advantage of Inter Milan's loss to AC Milan on Saturday. Cagliari led through MBala Nzola in the 21st minute. Gustav Isaksen equalized late in the first half. Substitute Andrea Pinamonti scored the winner in the 83rd minute and ripped off his shirt in celebration. Lazio now lead the league by three points.

Como beat bottom club Venezia 1-0 on a Lucas Da Cunha penalty. Frosinone beat Torino 2-0 to hold sixth place. Genoa won 2-1 at Lecce in the early game.

Bundesliga: Frankfurt back in the hunt

Eintracht Frankfurt beat Hamburg 3-1 at home. Warmed Omari turned the ball into his own net in the 10th minute to give Frankfurt the lead. Terem Moffi levelled four minutes later from an Albert Gronbaek pass. Raphael Onyedika put Frankfurt back ahead just after the break. Fares Chaibi had a goal ruled out after a VAR review. Younes Ebnoutalib finished the scoring in the 69th minute.

Frankfurt move to eighth on 11 points from eight games, two points behind sixth placed Bayer Leverkusen. Hamburg are 15th on nine points. In the early game, Union Berlin drew 1-1 at home with Cologne. Janik Haberer scored for Union, who recorded their first draw of the season and moved out of the bottom two, on seven points.

What it means

Madrid keep pressure on Barcelona without playing well for long stretches, and they did it with the game settled by halftime. Lazio hold first place in Italy for now, with Juventus hosting Napoli later on Sunday. Frankfurt's win pulls them back toward the European places in Germany after eight rounds.
