Key points

  • The Anaheim Ducks beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 on Tuesday night, November 3, 2026, in Vancouver.
  • Gauthier completed his third NHL hat trick at 4:11 of the third period with a wrist shot that gave Anaheim a 5-2 lead.
  • Mikael Granlund added a goal and two assists for the Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 on Tuesday night, November 3, 2026, in Vancouver. Cutter Gauthier recorded his team-record second straight hat trick, and Anaheim held on after building a three-goal lead in the third period, Reuters reported.

Gauthier completed his third NHL hat trick at 4:11 of the third period with a wrist shot that gave Anaheim a 5-2 lead. His first two goals were power-play one-timers from the left circle, at 17:07 of the first period and 18:25 of the second period. Vancouver cut the lead to one goal after that, but the Ducks closed out the 5-4 win.

The scoring around Gauthier

Mikael Granlund added a goal and two assists for the Ducks. Beckett Sennecke had four assists for Anaheim, feeding the attack on a night when the power play decided the game.

Vancouver got two goals from Jake DeBrusk and one each from Liam Ohgren and Linus Karlsson. The Canucks still lost, and their record fell to 3-13-1. Anaheim improved to 7-7-1 with the win.

A three-game run without precedent in Anaheim

Gauthier, 22, has eight goals in the past three games, including six on the power play. He is the first NHL player to record multiple power-play goals in three consecutive games, Reuters reported. Anaheim went 10-for-12 with the man advantage in that span.

The hat trick followed the same script as Sunday. Gauthier also scored three goals in Anaheim's 6-3 comeback win over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, a game Orbit Post reported earlier this week. He is the first player in Ducks history to register back-to-back three-goal games, TSN reported. Two hat tricks in two games, eight goals in three, and six of them on the power play: no player in the league is on a hotter scoring run right now, and the numbers in this report are the whole of that claim.

The four Vancouver goals came from three players: DeBrusk scored twice, and Ohgren and Karlsson scored once each, which accounts for every Canucks goal in the 5-4 final. Anaheim's power play is the thread through the whole run: six of Gauthier's eight goals in three games came with the man advantage, and the Ducks scored on 10 of 12 power plays in that span.

What comes next

The Ducks visit the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. The Canucks visit the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday, TSN reported. Vancouver goes on the road still looking for answers at 3-13-1, while Anaheim takes a .500 record and the league's hottest scorer into Edmonton.
