Washington scored two touchdowns in the final 90 seconds to beat Nebraska 17-10 on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, completing a comeback in a game the Huskies had trailed since the first quarter.

Chris Lawson gave Washington its first lead with 1:30 left, catching a 25 yard touchdown pass from Demond Williams Jr. to finish a 12 play, 81 yard drive and make it 10-7. Earlier in the same drive, Lawson converted a fourth and 18 with a catch reaching back across his body, keeping the series alive when a stop would have left Washington with almost no time.

Twenty three seconds later, the defense ended it. Alex McLaughlin stepped in front of a pass intended for tight end Luke Lindenmeyer and returned the interception 48 yards for a touchdown and a 17-7 lead. Nebraska answered with a field goal to close the scoring at 17-10, its only points of the fourth quarter against 14 for Washington.

Nebraska controls most of the night

Nebraska's only touchdown came in the first quarter, a 24 yard pass from Anthony Colandrea to Carter Nelson at the end of a 10 play, 95 yard drive that opened a 7-0 lead.

Washington got on the board 41 seconds before halftime, when Tyler Robles kicked a 50 yard field goal to make it 7-3. That score held through the third quarter, and Nebraska missed a chance to stretch the lead with 10:01 left in the fourth, when Kyle Cunanan missed a 36 yard field goal wide right.

Nebraska led 7-3 at halftime and by the same score after three quarters. For more than 58 minutes, Robles's field goal was all Washington had.

Three interceptions decide it

Washington intercepted Colandrea three times. Emmanuel Karnley and Rylon Dillard-Allen picked him off in the first quarter, before Nebraska's defense kept the Huskies out of the end zone and the turnovers looked like wasted chances. McLaughlin's interception, the third, was the one that decided the game.

The win gave Washington a second straight road win in Big Ten play. It was the first meeting between Washington and Nebraska as Big Ten opponents, and their first meeting since 2011, and it was settled by the two latest scores of the night: a receiver reaching back on fourth down, and a defender reading a throw to the tight end one play into Nebraska's last real chance.
