Strategy bought 811 bitcoin for $65.5 million in the week from October 26 to November 1, the company disclosed in a Form 8-K filing on Monday, November 2, 2026. The purchase ended a one week pause. In the week that ended October 25, the company bought no bitcoin at all.

The company paid an average of $80,846 a coin, fees included. Its total holdings now stand at 849,327 bitcoin, acquired for a combined $64.08 billion, or $75,451 a bitcoin on average, according to the filing. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor confirmed the move on X, writing: "Strategy has acquired 811 $BTC and repurchased $208M of $STRC."

Common stock paid for the coins

Every bitcoin in the latest batch was paid for with proceeds from sales of the company Class A common stock. Through its at the market program, Strategy sold 1,178,552 shares of MSTR for $164.0 million after commissions. Of that money, $65.5 million went into bitcoin and $98.5 million was added to USD Cash. The company issued no shares of its four preferred stocks, STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD, during the week.

The preferred buyback was the bigger spend

The bitcoin purchase was not the largest capital move in the filing. Over the same seven days, Strategy spent $208.2 million repurchasing 2,092,035 shares of its STRC preferred stock, drawing on USD Cash. That leaves $748.6 million of room in the preferred buyback program, whose cap the board lifted to $3 billion last month.

Across the last two weekly filings, the company has put $413.1 million into STRC repurchases since October 19, more than six times what it spent on bitcoin over the same stretch, by Unchained count. In the week that ended October 25, it reported no bitcoin purchases and $204.9 million of STRC buybacks.

USD Cash ended the week at $132.7 million, down from $242.4 million a week earlier. The USD Reserve, which the company holds to cover preferred dividends and interest on its debt, stood at $4.79 billion after $43.4 million went to dividend payments. Saylor put the company USD assets at $4.9 billion in his post on X.

A second corporate buyer added coins too

Strategy was not the only public company reporting a purchase on Monday. Strive added 124 bitcoin between October 24 and October 30 at about $80,526 each, lifting its holdings to 43,124 bitcoin, Bitcoin Magazine reported, citing Strive filing. The two purchases together added 935 bitcoin to corporate treasuries in the reports published on Monday.

What the price context shows

Bitcoin traded near $78,000 on Monday morning, below the $80,846 average Strategy paid for the coins it bought across the previous week. The purchase reports landed at the start of a heavy week for markets, with Apple and Palantir earnings due after the close on Monday, the United States midterm elections on Tuesday, and the October jobs report on Friday. Strategy reported third quarter net income of $19.5 billion last week, a figure driven mainly by a paper gain on its bitcoin holdings under fair value accounting.

For readers who follow corporate bitcoin treasuries, the filing carries two clear facts. Strategy is buying again after a pause, and for now it is spending far more cash retiring its own preferred stock than it is spending on new coins.
