North Las Vegas, Nevada: One Man Dead, Two Hurt in Shooting on West McDonald Avenue

One man is dead and two others are in hospital after a shooting shortly after midnight on Monday in North Las Vegas, Nevada, police said.

North Las Vegas police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of West McDonald Avenue, near Carey Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard, shortly after midnight on Monday, November 2. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds near West Street and McDonald Avenue. A third man, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was found nearby at Juanita Circle, across Carey Avenue, police said in a statement.

All three men were taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas for treatment. One man died at the hospital. A second man was in critical condition with life threatening injuries, and the third man was listed as stable, according to police accounts reported by KTNV and FOX5.

No arrests announced

Detectives and crime scene investigators are handling the case, and police have released no suspect information. No arrests have been announced, and police have not given a motive for the shooting. The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the name of the man who died, along with his cause and manner of death, once his family has been notified.

Police have not said whether the three men knew each other, where exactly the shots were fired, or whether anyone else was hurt. The two locations named by police, West McDonald Avenue and Juanita Circle, sit in a residential area west of Carey Avenue, and officers worked both scenes as part of the same investigation.

KTNV reported that surveillance video captured the shooting, and detectives are reviewing evidence from both scenes. Until the coroner releases a name, the man who died is described in police statements only as one of the three men taken to hospital from the McDonald Avenue area early on Monday, and police have asked anyone who saw or heard anything in the neighborhood at that hour to come forward.
