Key points

  • Keller ISD voters rejected all five propositions in the district's $828 million bond election on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
  • The five propositions totaled $828,107,815.
  • Proposition B asked for $28 million for student and staff devices, network and cybersecurity work.

Keller ISD voters rejected all five propositions in the district's $828 million bond election on Tuesday, Nov. 3. In a statement posted after the count, the district said: "Based on unofficial election results, voters have not approved any of the five propositions included in the district's 2026 Bond Election." The package was Keller ISD's first bond election since 2019, and it failed even as the three school board candidates who backed it in full led their races.

What was on the ballot

The five propositions totaled $828,107,815. Proposition A, at $756.3 million, held most of the money. It would have paid to design, build, renovate and equip school facilities across the district, with districtwide safety and security upgrades, replacement of heating, cooling, electrical and plumbing systems, technology network work, and a partial rebuild of Keller Middle School.

Proposition B asked for $28 million for student and staff devices, network and cybersecurity work. Proposition C asked for $8.9 million to repair the district natatorium and replace its equipment. Proposition D asked for $11 million to replace the Keller Athletic Complex field house, and Proposition E asked for $23.9 million to replace turf at middle school and high school fields. The district says it maintains 34 campuses and facilities, and the Board of Trustees called the election on Aug. 13, 2026.

A split verdict at the polls

The Fort Worth Report had all five Keller propositions trailing just after midnight, while the board candidates who supported the full package were ahead. Community Impact reported Rachel Weatherington leading for Place 4, Andrew Walsh leading a three-way race for Place 5, and Barbara Brewer narrowly leading for Place 6 in early results.

Bond supporters said the package fit within the district's current tax rate, and it trailed anyway. Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, which opposed the borrowing, put the total repayment cost of the package near $1.48 billion once interest is counted.

What the district does next

The district said it respects the decision and thanked residents who studied the propositions and voted. "While the outcome does not change the facility, infrastructure, and operational needs identified through the district's planning process, it does mean Keller ISD will need to evaluate how best to address those needs moving forward," the statement said. The district said it remains committed to safe and effective learning environments and to acting as responsible stewards of taxpayer resources.

All results are unofficial until the votes are canvassed. The needs the bond would have covered, from aging mechanical systems to the natatorium repairs, now wait for a new plan and a new funding decision.
