Julia Stiles and her professional partner Ezra Sosa were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars on Monday, November 2, 2026, during the Season 35 Week 8 episode built around Disney Night. The result came after the judges' scores and viewer votes were combined. Stiles finished in eighth place, and the elimination cut the field from eight celebrities to seven.
Stiles and Sosa were left in the final two alongside Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas before the result was announced. Earlier in the night the pair danced a paso doble to "Satisfied" from Hamilton. The routine earned 33 out of 40 from the judges, with Bruno Tonioli giving the only 9.
A night of first team dances
Disney Night brought the first team dances of Season 35. All eight couples performed to songs from Disney Broadway musicals. Cynthia Erivo served as guest judge alongside regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.
Stiles and Sosa were part of Team Slaytopia, which scored 36 out of 40 in the team round. That took their combined judges' score for the night to 69. Team Wildcats won the team round with a perfect 40 out of 40.
Two couples earned perfect individual scores of 40 out of 40: Harry Shum Jr. with Jenna Johnson, and Jenna Dewan with Val Chmerkovskiy. Shum Jr. and Johnson won immunity from next week's dance-off because their cumulative season score was one point higher.
Dancing through a rib injury
Stiles reinjured her rib during rehearsals for the paso doble and danced through the pain on the night. After the elimination she said: "It's been an incredible experience. I pulled things out of myself that I didn't know were there." Sosa told her: "Just to see your growth in and outside the ballroom has been an honor, and I'm so lucky to share this experience with you."
The episode aired on Monday instead of the show's usual Tuesday slot because of the November 3 midterm elections. Seven couples remain in the competition.
The arithmetic of the night shows how Stiles and Sosa went out. Their paso doble brought 33 points, the team round added 36, and the combined judges' total of 69 still left them in the final two once viewer votes were added. Above them, the team round split the field cleanly, with the Wildcats on a perfect 40 and Slaytopia on 36, and two couples took perfect 40s for their individual routines. With Erivo joining Inaba, Hough and Tonioli on the panel, and every couple dancing to a Disney Broadway song, the eighth week ended with Stiles in eighth place and seven couples still in the season.
