Shots fired as deputies spoke with a teenager outside

When deputies arrived, they made contact with a 17 year old male outside the home. While deputies were speaking with the teenager, someone inside the property fired shots in their direction, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Because of the gunfire and the reported presence of armed people inside the home, the Sheriff's Office activated its SWAT team. The New Mexico State Police, the Edgewood Police Department, and the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.
